Description:
MECH 2310 - Statics and Introductory Dynamics (3 semester hours) Lecture course. Course material includes static equilibrium of particles, trusses and machines, internal forces in beams, friction equivalent systems, particle dynamics, work, energy, angular momentum, moment of inertia, and dynamics of rigid bodies. Major topics: force systems and static equilibrium, truss and frame structures, introduction to dynamics, kinematics and kinetics of particles, kinematics and kinetics of rigid bodies. Prerequisite: MECH 1208 and PHYS 2325/2125. Pre- or corequisite: MATH 2414 or MATH 2419. (3-0) Y
